5 mistakes easy to make during the spray concrete process

1. Add too much water

You may remember that when this weak relationship between water and cement ratio is changed, the quality of the concrete will be damaged, resulting in a decrease in compressive strength and durability.

2. Refuel uncontrollably

We usually add additives during the mixing process, and accelerators are combined just before spraying. However, what happens if you do not follow the recommended dosage guidelines? Facts have proved that the ultimate resistance of concrete will change, resulting in weak adhesion between the concrete layer and the surface.

3. Forget to clean the surface

A clean surface is essential to ensure the best application of shotcrete, there are two key reasons: first, it helps to eliminate residues, which will improve the adhesion of shotcrete; second, it can remove all loose materials , So that the support work you are doing is on a stable structure.

4. Think you need to increase stress

Many people close the gas collection valve to bring the compressor's flow and pressure to a level they think is sufficient.

It turns out that, in general, the compressor's flow rate is fixed, not variable, which means that all the results they get by closing the valve are that the compressor is less efficient and the load is greater. Important: Do not touch the valve.

5. Think your compressor can't provide enough kinetic energy

Thinking that your compressor does not have enough capacity to perform spraying work, and change it to a larger compressor, you may find yourself in trouble.

One of the main problems caused by switching is the increase in rebound. By spraying the concrete at a speed higher than the required speed, a rebound will inevitably occur.

Remember, today, concrete spraying equipment has been designed to be used by the kinetic energy department. The compressor itself has a predetermined flow rate, and the machine has a nozzle suitable for operation. If you spray at the correct distance, the shotcrete work will not be disappointing.
